Attack on power grid largest case of domestic terrorism recorded

A presumed terrorist attack against a San Jose, California power station last April 16 is only now gaining public attention, and raising concerns for the safety of the nation’s power grid system,  The Wall Street Journal reported.

Jon Wellinghoff, then-chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, termed the almost hour-long attack on the Metcalf facility, “the most significant incident of domestic terrorism involving the grid that has ever occurred.”

He believes the episode might be a dress rehearsal for a bigger attack.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation said it is “continuing to sift through the evidence,” but that it does not think a terrorist organization was behind the incident, according to the Journal.

The attack began at 12:58 a.m., when underground AT&T fiber-optic telecommunications cables were slashed in a vault not far from the Metcalf facility. Other cables were also cut. At 1:31 a.m., the facility, located near a freeway, came under sustained rifle fire. AK-47 bullet casings found later had been wiped clean of fingerprints.

The shooters were apparently aiming for the oil-filled cooling systems intended to keep the transformers from overheating, the Journal said. Though they were riddled with bullet holes, and hemorrhaged 52,000 gallons of oil, the transformers did not explode.

By the time sheriff’s department officers arrived on the scene the attackers were gone.

Seventeen massive transformers had been put out of commission. Company officials initially declared the incident vandalism. Cameras were positioned facing inward and did not pick up images of the shooters.

Upon further investigation, it looked more like the handiwork of professionals who had done advance preparation and reconnaissance, the Journal reported.

It would take 27 days to repair the damage and bring the substation back on line. Other facilities, meanwhile, ramped up their production of electricity to make up for the loss.

There are about 2,000 massive—custom-built— transformers around the country. They are pricy and hard to replace. A concerted, large scale assault on such extra-high-voltage transformers could result in prolonged outages, according to the Energy Department, the Journal reported.

Until now, security experts had been mostly concerned that cyber attackers might take down the grid by hacking into its control systems.

Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., expressed concern that no one in government is in overall charge of electric grid security, or in a position to take command in the event of an emergency, the Journal reported.

Very interesting. A 20 Lb. propane tank and angle iron is used to make a spigot mortar round. It is about using what you have at hand when you need something. Don’t have a howitzer round? No problem. Be inventive and adapt to the situation. For what it is worth the same round could be fired out of an air cannon as well. With the propane tank warhead it could have any type of charge in it; Chemical, HE, shaped charge, Low order explosives or incendiary. Kids, don’t try this at home….

In publicity shots, he’s dressed in women’s clothing, and in music videos, he appears to be naked and feigning masturbation. I want to move to the country that Obama is from

I held it down and didn’t churl. I was also able to maintain my composure and not stab my television. Yes, that’s right, I watched the entire state of the union address.  I was wide eyed and fascinated as the dear leader described how peachy keen things were. Apparently unbeknownst to any of us, we live in a thriving economy  that is busily churning out goods like never before seen in history.  Unemployment is at an historic 5 year low, we have added 80,000 jobs and manufacturing is producing goods at a rate unseen since world war II.   About halfway through the speech I decided that this land of honey and candy coated unicorns sounded so good that I must emigrate there to get my fair share. It was a wonderful place that he described in his starry eyed performance and I decided that I must go. Then my wife hit me in the head…Hard. She reminded me of all the small things that he was interjecting into his speech. All of the executive orders that he was going to use to move Amerika forward and all the progress we were going to make as a nation. She made me pay attention when he mentioned Newtown and how he, yes he himself, was going to climb down from his unicorn and do something about it. That was when I realized that maybe the candy coating wasn’t what it seemed to be.  Maybe things weren’t what they seemed. Maybe the land of milk and honey wasn’t. Then I saw it….

It wasn’t the beautiful picture that he was painting. In between his lofty rhetoric he was interjecting his real agenda. The eye of Mordor was upon us.Take away all his caramel coated words and you have what he is really planning. He is going to do what he wants. He is going to further his goals through “Executive action” ,including smothering your second amendment rights like Jack Nicholson in One flew over the Cuckoo’s nest. Everything else he said was fluff to simply hear himself speak. Oil filter supressor

An oil filter really does make a bang up suppressor. They are extremely quiet and all you need is to adapt it to your gun. Once firmly affixed you fire the pistol to create the hole. Every round there after follows the same trajectory out. It doesn’t get much simpler. The suppressor itself is legal but you need the tax stamp for the adapter. A number of companies sell the adapter and provide the paperwork for the tax stamp…. Homemade cannon fail

And I thought I was stupid. In all these cannon fail videos they are measuring out powder by the ounce or the inch. “Well we just put in 3″ of pyrodex….” WTF? 1200 grains is less then a cap full and is sufficient to lob a 1 Lb. projectile 1/2 a mile out of a 3″ bore. To top it off these geniuses made it out of PVC with cinder block reinforcement.

How poets fight

A few years ago I dropped this in a poetry forum full of squabbling liberals as a random rant. They were actually a mean spirited bunch who were preying on less accomplished writers.   It was like throwing a frag in there. Each one  all thought that it was written about them. I of course thought the reaction was hilarious.  Be careful fencing words with writers…

You should sulk away in shame. You are a bottom feeder pretending to be predacious. Life has shown you that in the order of life you will rapaciously lick the lips of the alpha every time . You mistake your pretension for power, and you and only you make that mistake. Don’t think that any other believes that you are anything more than the absolute bottom of the order. You can cry to all who will listen about your greatness and only the most ignorant will believe; For a while. Your attempts to empower yourself by belittling others is a pathetic attempt to cover your own inadequacies. Maybe you haven’t realized yet that they can’t be covered, that everyone really can see you for whom you are.    I am amazed that something would mate with you. I can’t believe that one of your slightly more pretentious peers has not taken her from you yet. You are a disgusting example of a human being. You are petty, jealous and cowardly. You are the very definition of anthropomorphism.; You have been attributed with human traits without actually having them. You are lower than an animal and are pathetic.

Congress to ban targeting by IRS

This goes to show how far that we have fallen from the rule of law.  “negotiators agreed to strict rules to prevent the Internal Revenue Service from targeting groups for ideological scrutiny, and specifically banning the agency from targeting citizens “for exercising any right guaranteed under the First Amendment.”   It is ridiculous that they even need to discuss this. They are proposing a law that would prevent the IRS from violating our first amendment rights. Isn’t that already prohibited? Where is the DOJ stepping up to file a federal suit?   We now have out of control bureaucracies controlling our government. Instead of dealing with one tyrant, we now deal with a thousand as each one issues another 1000 regulations. We have slipped into a Soviet style bureaucratic tyranny. Douchebag extrodinaire Lt Col. Robert Bateman calls for the disarmarment of American citizens in a recent Esquire opinion piece. In the article, linked above, he uses language that belies what he is actually saying. The article is littered with references to violence and his disdain for the law.   “My entire adult life has been dedicated to the deliberate management of violence. There are no two ways around that fact. My job, at the end of the day, is about killing. I orchestrate violence.” ” I am not proud of that fact. Indeed, I am often torn-up by the realization that not only is this my job, but that I am really good at my job.”    He ends his first statement with “My job, at the end of the day is about killing”.  At the beginning of the second statement he attempts to mitigate the implications of his first statement but then negates that with ” I am really good at my job”.   Below is the actual plan that he lays out.  Notice the language sprinkled through out  it that thinly veneers his disdain for the citizenry. ” you cannot bring down a defenseless deer in under five rounds, then you have no fking reason to be holding a killing tool in the first place.”  “That will piss off some cops, since they really need this money. But you know what they need more? Less violence and death”   ” will be bought out by the United States of America, for our own damned good. “.      Within his plan he uses the mother of all violent phrases   “We will pry your gun from your cold, dead, fingers.”  After using violent phraseology he then attempts to mitigate the language by adding “That is because I am willing to wait until you die, hopefully of natural causes”.   That is like looking someone in the eye and telling them that you are going to send them to their grave, after they are dead of course. The cat is out of the bag when you make the first statement and your true intent is being shown.      I think that the good Col. has shown cleary through his language what his true intent is. He repeatedly demonstrates that he thinks his view is superior to that of the court and he is willing to use violence to achieve his ends. He just can’t say it at the moment… Not yet anyway. A lot of people have commented on the piece that he wrote and “Traitor” and “Oathbreaker” are recurring themes, but I think it goes farther than that; I believe that he is a clear and present danger.   

1. The only guns permitted will be the following:

• a. Smoothbore or Rifled muzzle-loading blackpowder muskets. No 7-11 in history has ever been held up with one of these.
• b. Double-barrel breech-loading shotguns. Hunting with these is valid.
• c. Bolt-action rifles with a magazine capacity no greater than five rounds. Like I said, hunting is valid. But if you cannot bring down a defenseless deer in under five rounds, then you have no fking reason to be holding a killing tool in the first place.

2. We will pry your gun from your cold, dead, fingers. That is because I am willing to wait until you die, hopefully of natural causes. Guns, except for the three approved categories, cannot be inherited. When you die your weapons must be turned into the local police department, which will then destroy them. (Weapons of historical significance will be de-milled, but may be preserved.)

3. Police departments are no longer allowed to sell or auction weapons used in crimes after the cases have been closed. (That will piss off some cops, since they really need this money. But you know what they need more? Less violence and death. By continuing the process of weapon recirculation, they are only making their jobs — or the jobs of some other cops — harder.)

4. We will submit a new tax on ammunition. In the first two years it will be 400 percent of the current retail cost of that type of ammunition. (Exemptions for the ammo used by the approved weapons.) Thereafter it will increase by 20 percent per year.

5. We will initiate a nationwide “buy-back” program, effective immediately, with the payouts coming from the DoD budget. This buy-back program will start purchasing weapons at 200 percent of their face value the first year, 150 percent the second year, 100 percent the third year. Thereafter there will be a 10 year pause, at which point the guns can be sold to the government at 10 percent of their value for the next 50 years.

6. The major gun manufactures of the United States, less those who create weapons for the federal government and the armed forces, will be bought out by the United States of America, for our own damned good.

When the rule of law no longer matters in a government, that lawlessness slowly creeps through the entire bureaucracy. As our government becomes more corrupt we are quickly moving to an Eastern block type of bureaucratic dictatorship.   Corrupt leadership quickly spreads through all levels of bureaucracy and soon all of the lettered agencies will be doing the bidding of the system.  The system, after time, takes on a life of it’s own and becomes self perpetuating; It’s end becoming it’s means.   The agencies do not have to be told what to do, they just do as part of the system and the corruption spreads until every level is permeated. Eventually every level of life will be ruled by institutionalized corruption. Even as we sit, those proverbial frogs in slowly boiling water, the chains of our own imprisonment are forged around us. It is not by chance that the system is doing all it can to spread it’s tentacles everywhere.    The system has reached the point that without direct leadership it is preparing it’s own eventuality and perpetuity. The TSA, NSA, EPA, ATF, and numerous other “Lettered” bureaus are now creeping into every aspect of life (The examples are so numerous that I need not name them)  and soon all that information and power that they are gathering will be put to use.   Right now there is only one key structure missing; A military force that can be used for control on the local level. Control comes not only by the use of force but also and mainly by intimidation. Enter into the picture now the MRAPS that are being distributed throughout the country to local law enforcement. These multi-ton armored behemoths are being snatched up like hot cakes by P.D.s across the nation and put into service as SWAT vehicles.   As this militarization takes place DHS is working to incorporate local PDs into it’s structure. Soon, and very soon, I think the end game will be upon us.   What choices at that point do we have? Any who dare to stand directly against the might of the machine will quickly be put out of their misery, met by overwhelming force . If the media mouth pieces even acknowledge their existence they will be labeled as miscreants, child molesters,  psychopaths or worse.    The answer is that we need to do what we are doing; We are dissidents now in the European sense. The dissident is actually the most dangerous thing that the system faces because He/She is the only one willing to speak the truth. While everyone else is afraid to speak so they don’t upset their comfortable, life the dissident is compelled by truth to speak out.  The system only works when everyone, with a wink and a nod, acknowledges the systems sovereignty over them and goes along with it.    The key is to live the truth and speak it and part of that truth is to acknowledge that our government has become so corrupt that we can’t vote our way out of this. It has gone too far and too long to be cured by one party or the other.       Read the excerpt below and you decide what the truth is and then decide if you have the courage to speak it. Being a dissident is a dangerous job and it has caused many to be imprisoned for lengthy terms and many will choose their comfortable ,mind numbed lives instead of truth.    But my truth is that even if you imprison me, I am still a free man, for that liberty lives within me. As long as I can think, as long as I can speak, as long as I can breathe, I have that torch. No matter what happens I will not accept the sovereignty of the system, or any man for that matter over, over my freedom. Knowing certainly that she will lose to her challenger in the recall election, she has opened the door for a more popular candidate to run. Hudak’s seat would have been the third lost by Democrats and would have threatened the Dem majority. Good bye and good riddance.
