Please let a bear break into my cabin….Please..

Amd 65

Yeah, it was like that. I would have pretended it was some Commie……

Women

My wife just won’t believe that I just loaded up and put my AMD-65 in the truck and went back to work because it is bring your gun to work day.

She came out in the driveway with a nervous look on her face and started playing 20 questions with me. “Is everything alright” Yes babe it’s fine, it’s bring your gun to work day. “Did someone threaten you?” No, I told you everything is fine. “Well, I have a lump here in my chest now, Did someone try to break in? Is there something I don’t know? ” Babe, everything is cool, can’t a man just visit his gun occasionally ?  “Maybe you should just turn off for awhile, skip the news and stuff today, just let everything ride ” It’s cool, really, it’s just bring your gun to work day .

I pull out of the driveway and she waves, still looking a little nervous as I leave. It’s not like she never heard of bring your gun to work day before, right?

That’s the beauty of owning your own business; you can declare whatever day you want. If you want to declare “Everybody gets off early and drinks beer” day, you can. We have have everyone shoots fireworks at each other day, everyone comes in late day and various others. We also have bring your gun to work day.

When I say “Bring your gun” I don’t mean your personal protection piece; That is every day. I mean bring your favorite or your best or your baddest.

I brought my favorite. Can’t a guy like his gun and tote it around with him if he wants? Hell, when the dog was alive I took her to work with me everyday. Can’t a guy like his gun as much as he likes his dog?

She finally seemed to chill out a little  when I reminded her of the poem I wrote called “Got my gun back” which I wrote after she caught me fondling same said weapon after a 2 months absence……… Women.

Got my gun back

She said I missed you
And I did
She saw the way I touched you
You felt so good in my hands
That I couldn’t hide it
Like part of me
You and I
Lightning, clouds and thunder
Raining brass from the sky
Death no longer silent
But screaming in joy
Barking it out loudly
Singing to the world
Stirring dust devils
In the distance
As we dance

AMD-65 My zombie killer of choice

“AMD-65 (Hungarian: Automata Módosított Deszant[fegyver] 1965; Automatic Modified Paratrooper [weapon]) is a Hungarian-manufactured licensed variant of the venerable AKM rifle for use by that nation’s armored infantry and paratrooper (“descent”) units. The rifle’s design is suited for outdoor use as an infantry rifle but can also be used from within the confines of an armored vehicle as a fire support weapon. This is possible due to the side-folding stock of shaft design that makes it more compact. The 12.6-inch barrel is also relatively short for the 7.62×39mm cartridge. The operating mechanism does not require a gas expansion chamber at the muzzle as in the AKS-74U to ensure reliable functioning, but does use a specially designed muzzle brake, which reduces muzzle flash, but makes the weapon louder.”
I know it is heavy. I know it only has a 12.5″ barrel. None of that changes the fact that I can pound out rapid fire zombie kills at 50 Yds. and keep a 6″ pattern. When I say rapid fire, I mean rapid fire.
I have had it for about 4 Yrs. now and it has functioned flawlessly. I have put thousands of rounds through it and have never had a jam. I have heated it up until the grease and paint were starting to smoke and still no problem.
I have, since acquiring it, put on high dollar Holo optics, tac light and laser. I do have numerous other weapons to choose from, but in this one everything comes together to make ideal for what I do. The best part is it is also the most fun to shoot out of everything I have. HK MP-5 is close, but not quite.
It does have a couple of drawbacks though.Did you read the part up there where it said “Makes the weapon louder? Yeah, that is no joke. You do not want to be the guy standing next to me at the range. Even with hearing protection it is a little painful.
The other drawback is that it slings brass like no other weapon I have seen. I think it is the result of the gas piston being shortened to accommodate the 12.5” barrel. It literally throws the brass out of the booth that I am shooting from. It is not such a big deal to me but everyone else has to watch out for smoking brass.
I think they hate me at the range because I always burn 400 to 600 Rds. while I am there and I get everyone near me all flinchy.
