A real muscle car. I loved the cars of my youth.

What a beauty. Sedans now all look alike. SUV’s are ugly suburban trucks.
There is an annual, weeklong, eyepopping eye-candy event for automotive enthusiasts in October. Venues from stateline to stateline host the nearly 10,000 vehicles coming from all over the country (even outside the country). No venue is large enough to display them all at once; cars are assigned 4 hour display locations throughout the day each day.
Antiques I’d never even heard of, hotrods, foreigns, domestics, clever and outrageous modifieds, rat rods, stunning paint jobs and designs, unbelievable restorations or totally originals …. Munster’s car, Batmobile, Tooltime restore, if it’s motorized, burns oil or petrol, it’s registered and shown even (ice chests).
It’s loud at times with choking burning rubber clouds at impromptu/illegal but tolerated scratch pits where owners with tons of invested $$$ entertain. Owners never tire of hearing stories from admirers and vis versa.

There was a couple admiring a beautiful 54 at the mall when the owners showed up. After discussion, the couple pitched the owner who agreed and a purchase was made in that parking lot. They all went directly to the bank. The new owners completed the display rotations for the rest of the week.
Testosterone so thick that you can cut it with a knife. Zero DEI present. So crowded and exciting to share common love and respect for ingenuity and skill. Explore photos at the site. Get your best buds, rent a short-term rental for a couple days and relive your youth or the one you wish you’d had. See pics from previous years at http://www.cruisinthecoast.com

I moved here from Los Angeles and never looked back (one lock on the door, not 5). Come in October, see the cars and we’ll go to lunch.
