The Moore County Democratic Party chairman, who is also a candidate for a N.C. House race, was charged Friday in connection with the theft of political signs in Seven Lakes.
Lowell Evan Simon, 68, of West End was charged with two counts of misdemeanor larceny of political signs and was released under a written promise to appear in court. Simon’s first court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 30 in Moore County District Court.
Simon is a Democrat challenging incumbent Republican Neal Jackson in the N.C. House 78 district. He also has led the local Democratic party for the past year.
On Thursday, Oct. 10 at approximately 5:25 p.m., a Moore County Sheriff’s deputy working in the West End area reported observing Simon removing campaign signs from the roadside along Seven Lakes Drive. A Donald Trump and Mark Robinson sign were found in Simon’s vehicle. Trump is the Republican party presidential candidate, while Robinson is the party’s candidate for N.C. governor.
Wouldn’t be a Demonrat if he wasn’t committing crimes. They’re all criminals.
Locally here a woman running for state office was caught with a pile of her opponents signs in her garage. The opponents signs kept disappearing, so he put apple air tags in several of them which were subsequently stolen by the same person. When the cops showed up at her home, she denied stealing them, but couldn’t explain how they arrived in her garage.
She still got several hundred votes during the election.

They’re putting tracking devices in your clothes(LLBean) why not your vote ? I know I won’t be voting for the sloth, Rick Scot, or Gus Bilarakus, because “Gus isn’t for us” and the sloth voted for “red flag” and Parkland.
