No rear suspension is gonna plant a hack of a lot of splinters in your ass. If ash wood was used, should be OK frame wise, not much different than an early MG, just less comfortable.

Sold my MGTD about 6 months ago, decided I did not want to complete the ground up rebuild and getting too old to fold into LBCs now.

Definitely an ass buster. Here in Florida we have Hophornbeam trees, also know as Iron wood. Super dense and heavy .it used to be used for wagon axles and such. You could make a hell of a frame for sure
