it is a little hard to see – I made it full screen – but there are slightly darker wooden pins in the slots above the door. The taper on the bar lifts them up, then they fall into the holes in the bar once it’s in. The toothbrush looking thing is the key of course.

One thing I didn’t see was any link to anything Egyptian. Easy enough to find online, eg https://www.smith.edu/hsc/museum/ancient_inventions/hsc09b.htm , but I haven’t seen any pics of an actual one from that time period. And maybe Assyria did it first.
