Building Back Better

Back in the day, we couldn’t afford the spray paint. When the sole separated, we called them shoe puppets. Hard time ahead and I’m glad to have had them because it made us survivors. I had to teach a friend who has been on welfare her whole life with her three children how to buy food on a budget and how to eat and live like a poor person. The absolute irony, I thought.
