(KTLA) – The state of California is one step closer to paying reparations to Black residents whose ancestry goes back to the American slave trade.
The California Reparations Task Force released estimates, as well as breakdowns of the methodology used to determine the amounts, on Monday ahead of a critical vote that will take place later this week.
The possible payments reflect the work of economists who advised the task force and who were asked to estimate the total financial losses suffered by Black Californians impacted by slavery and institutional racism.
As outlined by the San Francisco Chronicle, an eligible resident who lived in California their whole life and was 71 or older could, in theory, receive as much as $1.2 million.

I called Newsom’s office concerning this latest taxpayer-funded vote-buying… er… REPARATION plan. I asked the snot-nosed college kid intern if there was going to be any kind of proof of slave ancestry needed to receive money, and… AND… if there was going to be any proof needed of slave OWNERSHIP ancestry needed before white people could be fleeced. I was told “Read the text of the law.” I told the whizkid I had, and that there as no mention of provenance either in the law. I was suddenly transferred to voice mail. I called back but my call went straight to voice mail. A third call yielded the same result. I then called back on a DIFFERENT line, got through, and was greeted with “How nice it is for you to call us back on an different line Mr. MacGyver so you could HARASS US!” …Calling a government office with a legitimate question now qualifies as “harassment…” …Newsom has eyes on the White House… The Pelosi cartel… in the White House… You think BIDEN is bad? Just wait…

Reparations … in a state that never had black slaves. However, if you look at the Chinese community, I’m betting that you’ll find more than a few that could trace their ancestry back to indentured servitude/slavery, whatever you want to call it.
