    I’m thinking some dark and stormy night, while out on a cruise to the Med or the eastern Pacific, this guy will turn up missing at muster the next morning. A fall over the side or off the fantail of a carrier is mostly not survivable, despite what training you get in boot camp. At that height, water has about as much “give” initially as concrete, especially if you’re flailing when you hit it. The over the side option may suck the unfortunate sailor right into the props. Instant chum for the sharks.

      I despair comparing the Navy I served in the 60’s to this abomination. Every one of the Joint Chiefs needs to be court marshaled for dereliction of duty and conduct unbecoming among other charges.
