My wife and I were married on the floor of a factory in Largo Fl. 33 Yrs. ago
It wasn’t much of a ceremony. We were married by the state of Florida when the manager of the plating shop we worked in, who was a notary, unceremoniously stamped our papers for us. He asked my to be bride, the new next Mrs. Ex, whether she would take me to be her husband. She agreed to the terms and we waved to each other across the factory floor and went back to work. Those were poor times and at that time we lived in a van that we had financed and were making payments on. We weren’t homeless exactly, because we had a plan. We bought the van so that after we paid it off we could afford get the funds together to move on to a place in a better town. The plan ended up being a good one and brought us to where we are today, But the marriage never sat right with us, even after all the time that had passed‘
On a lark, we decided to redo it and travel to my Brother’s church in Pennsylvania. This this time we would stand before God and man and do it properly. The good Bishop,my brother, and the people of his church went far beyond anything we could have imagined. Instead of a small, simple ceremony of renewal in an empty church, they threw us a full blown wedding, complete with guests and a reception. About 25 people were there and my nephew, also a pastor in a different state, drove in to co officiate the service, I had nieces and grand nieces who dropped what they were doing and came to see us. They turned it into a really big deal in such a sudden fashion that it was amazing. A wedding cake and tons of food and really good people for a valentines day wedding renewal. My wife is a happy woman. She got to wear nice dress and have the complete ceremony and vows that we never had. Flowers, candles, a flower girl, the whole deal.
We will be heading back to Florida tomorrow and Lord providing safe travel, I will to normal posting on Sunday
Wishing you a very Happy Marriage

What an awesome story! My wife (now my ex) and I met while working at the same factory which helped me formulate the rule to never date anyone I work with ever again. Welcome back!

Just curious. What were you doing on the floor, anyhow?
Couldn’t you at least stand up for your wedding?
