This will be an ongoing review
I have a Harvest right freeze dryer that is less than 1 year old. When it worked it was great, but unfortunately it has been out of commission for almost 1 month. This is an expensive machine and right now it is a large paperweight taking up space in my utility room. I contacted tech support and after emailing log files via USB drive. I was mailed a new CPU board even though it was a touchscreen issue that I was having. Between emails, phone calls and weekend closure it was a couple of weeks before I had the board in hand. I installed the board but needed a code to make it work and had to wait through the weekend to get it from Harvestright. Well, it didn’t work. I still had the touch screen issue and the machine crapped out again after 1 run. More time elapsed between emails, weekends and shipping. Now I am a month in and I found out that the touchscreen I needed had not been in stock but now I would have it shipped to me. I installed it along with another new CPU and guess what? It doesn’t work. Now it is the weekend and I have to wait again to talk to a tech. I am a very busy man and really have better things to do than wait and work on my freeze dryer. I will post more as it transpires.
Update 1 : I now have the machine running a cycle. You have to tap very hard on the touch screen to calibrate it and while I was smacking it, it suddenly reloaded and went to the proper screen and allowed a cycle to run. We shall see
I looked at those but realized I’d get overrun after word got out that I’m the fook‘en cafeteria when SHTF.
If ‘en after society collapses, my tribe will have to make due with a couple thousand pounds of beans and rice in the deep pantry that princess will boil up on our Stovtech biomass rocket stove to keep the family going. Got several dozen Mountain House #10 cans to sparingly season our beans and rice with too, way back when they cost $17-$22 each at Wallyworld. There’s also plenty of pine trees around here to get vitamin C from fresh pine needle tea.

I have one ands Its great. The same thing happened to mined, but the company was extremely helpful and after we installed the new board it has worked flawlessly for a year. I think the Harvest right is fabulous, but expensive investment. Finally paid back with stored meals and veggies

When it works, it works like a horse

Just sold mine.
It uses way too much electricity to be worth it, so we switched to dry canning and long term freeze dried supplies.

I have a small one with the new efficient pump. It is only running 200 watts for the whole thing

Thanks for the report. Since I am currently “saving up” for one of these, 1st hand experiences are important to read. Good luck with that!

So far so good on the repair

In my old job, I used to work with date coders for food products (amongst other things). Whenever a part is replaced or a calibration conducted, had to call the company for the pass code as it changed daily. I feel your frustration.
