New York bar owner who declared his tavern an AUTONOMOUS ZONE, defying Covid-19 orders, is arrested for serving customers

That’s right, it wasn’t politicians arresting him, it was cops. They will do what they are paid to do and that is to be the lapdogs of the “Lawmakers” If gun control is passed, the cops will enforce it; Prohibition, travel restrictions and anything else. Just like the Stasi or the Nazi’s they will cash their paycheck, get a raise and take a few steps up the power and status ladder. Not in my town….. B.S. if there is one good one that will stand up…. He certainly won’t last long.

A New York City tavern owner who declared his business an autonomous zone, in defiance of city and state Covid-19 orders, has been arrested after undercover police went into the pub to prove he was serving customers indoors.

Danny Presti was handcuffed by sheriff’s deputies and taken into custody on Tuesday night for violating bans on indoor food and beverage services. Dozens of supporters stood on the sidewalk outside, yelling at deputies, during and after the arrest.

When Presti returned to his shuttered Staten Island business, Mac’s Public House, on Wednesday morning, deputies reportedly lined the building outside to ensure that no one other than Presti and co-owner Keith McAlarney could get in.

The large law enforcement response came after Presti and McAlarney late last month declared Mac’s an “autonomous zone,” borrowing from a tactic used earlier this year by anarchist protesters to set apart neighborhoods in Seattle and Portland as separate countries.

The move came after the pub was hit with $1,000-a-day fines and stripped of its state liquor license for staying open in defiance of pandemic restrictions. The owners then subverted a state business-shutdown order by saying they would serve visitors for free, while asking for donations to cover their bills.

Presti and McAlarney also urged other business owners to know their legal rights and stand up to “overreaching” Covid-19 orders issued by Mayor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio. “Open your places up,”Presti said. “Take your cities, your states and your country back.”

    • When the right-wing extremists truly become the greatest domestic threat to the government, as they keep saying, they will know it by the count of dead orcs.

  1. My take on this is that once a few cops get the ever-loving sh*t kicked out of them trying to ‘enforce such ‘rules”, that the rest will tell the pol’s to go do it themselves..

  2. SC’s capitol city of Columbia, Mayor Steve Benjamin has Fire Dept. personnel out issuing $100 citations to non-maskers within the city limits. How is this even legal?

Every cop following unconstitutional orders, and enforcing unconstitutional laws, is acting outside scope of employment. As such, they forfeit all legal, and liability protection afforded them as a result of the official position, that they are, or were, formerly holding.

  5. Currently most police departments nationwide are holding major support from the actual taxpayers and everyday people, versus the antifa-blm protest crowd b.s. If this nonsense continues they will see that support drain away and will end up on their own when they leave the station. I want to believe that I am a law and order guy. But my loyalty is not blind and it must never be assumed and taken for granted. Given the current state of things I could be convinced that there are parties that WANT to drive a wedge between the police and the citizens. Even with that in mind and resisting “being played”, I will not except abuse to keep that peace.
