On Tuesday, voters across Leon County and Florida cast their ballots in this year’s midterm elections.

Among the things Floridians were tasked with were electing a new governor, approving amendments and electing a Senator.

Here are three takeaways from Tuesday’s election.

Andrew Gillum falls just short against Ron DeSantis in Florida governor race

Democratic Tallahassee mayor lost to Republican Ron DeSantis by less than 80,000 votes, according to incomplete unofficial results.

The former congressman’s victory, which has secured four more years of Republican rule of Florida’s top office.
