Russian Roulette

I spent some time today on the Southern Sense radio show and discussed Lies of Omission, but more importantly, we discussed the issues of the day. I can only be a marketing whore for so many hours in a day, then I revert back to the fact that we did this film for a reason, several reasons, but they all come back to one thing: the government is operating outside of legitimacy and is likely to do whatever is expedient for them. It is a government turned on the very people who sustain it, because we no longer sustain it. They have spent themselves into a debt outside of the American people.

One might frame the issue any way they choose, but it is consistent on one issue, the government is broken and flailing with both arms (Republican and Democrat) at their own shadow, against the evil they have fostered, that is inevitable whenever a government functions with no oversight, with no accountability, with no discipline. The very idea of high-level government officials going to jail is not even considered despite the open, obvious and brazen crimes committed as a matter of “doing business.” We nearly elected a candidate for President of the United States under active FBI investigation for, in effect, selling state secrets to fund her campaign and half the country still clings to that candidate as a savior and a blessing.

The dead and rotting corpse of the United States of America is stinking up the public square and people continue to walk by, look the other way and pretend there are no consequences for ignoring it. The only remedy is some very strong antiseptic and vigorous elbow grease. The only question is “When?” It is clear that indictments need to start arriving on the doorsteps of senior Obama officials over any number of scandals, starting with Fast and Furious. Of course, the second Clinton Administration was supposed to cover up all of Obama’s dirty deals and appoint a new AG that would forever keep the details of Fast and Furious and numerous other scandals secret until the public no longer cared.

So, maybe we have been a banana republic for some time now, but it has never been so obvious and incontestable. Never has there been such proof of government corruption and outright lawlessness (except perhaps in the days of the Kennedy assassination). One step further, without some sort of decisive move to hold the previous administration accountable and all bets are off. Perhaps it is just a free-for-all at that level already, but Trump will never get away with it, the press is not on his side. They will take him down and pin everything on him if he does not act and act swiftly and decisively to bring senior administration officials under investigation.

We are witness to a time in American history when the Director of the FBI and his deputy have come before congress and lied. No matter how they couch it in technicalities, they swore they would know if there was surveillance on the President-elect, his transition team or any other administration officials and they said there was no evidence of such surveillance. No tapping of Trump tower. Meanwhile, Obama is signing an Executive Order releasing that intelligence to not only every US Government intelligence agency, but some foreign intelligence agencies as well.

I grew up in the era of Watergate and watched it all on TV one summer and thought, well, this proves that our government will not tolerate corruption. Ha! Well, what I didn’t realize is that it only proved that when a Republican is president corruption will not be tolerated. Now is the time to prove that it works for Democrats as well. Failure to do so is to condemn this nation to chaos. I have felt many times that we, as a nation, were at a breaking point, Ruby Ridge, Waco, Oklahoma City, the corruption and Machiavellian methods used to pass Obamacare, Fast and Furious and nothing, no reaction, looking away, pretending that there are no stakes to this game of Russian Roulette. Yet, deep in my gut, I know that one of these times there is going to be a round in the chamber and this nation is going to get splattered against the wall. So, you want to know why I am not out in the streets, there ya go. I would have been there at every instance, but after getting sold out enough times, I learned to look back once in a while to see if any of those chanting for someone to do something were still there and have always been disappointed. So, I will follow, but I will not lead.

I could not publish my comment on TL’s site so I have published it below:

“That is a double “Hell yes!” TL. My wife told me last night that we should start organizing another march on DC. I told her ” Not me. I’ve done my part”. And TL, I have, as I know you have. I have a lot of blood and treasure in this game. But my part to the forefront is done. If there is a ground swell of support for such a movement, then it will come, regardless of me. I can’t call to the empty wind any more. If the time and place happens then there will be a place there for me. If not then I guess that I will drag the chains just like the rest of them. EGD”

  1. Cogent big pic essay… my wife and I feel the same and left for mexico 3 years ago. So much less police presence here. Nice folks with overall good values here too. A polite society. I am NOT coming back. Love my country and culture but not the government and associated sheeple people. I feel now like someone helping in a underground railroad for folks bailing on the dissolved american dream. Here’s my blogpost today about cruising around down here with a 6-pak and a cracked windshield: http://anarchistwatermen.blogspot.com/2017/03/cruising-oaxaca-back-roads-with-6-pak.html

  2. Our family thinks this is the wild west down here: but far safer than the USA and cops leave you alone for the most part. Big overblown media crap about Mexico. Cheap too. Our rent is $120 a month. Our power bill was 8 bucks last month. A 16 buck gas bottle has lasted 6 months of cooking. Doctor visits 25 bucks or my doctor takes a ounce of silver per visit. And on and on.
