The internet’s your Doctor now….

I know that I have not been my usual pissed off, spunky self lately. I haven’t been trying to storm the gates or inviting drone strikes that would end my measly existence in a roar of fire, spilt coffee, and doughnut dust. And yes, there is a reason.

Have I given up? Been cowed by the thought of hot alphabet soup pouring through my doorway? No. Not by a long shot.

Truth is, my finger still hasn’t healed. I have no actual fingertip. The end looks like a blown up hot dog. It has now been 1 month, 4 days, 10 hours, and I can’t give you the minutes. So what’s the problem? Let me give you a recap of events.

On Nov. 1 around 11:00 P.M. I was putting a hitch mounted carrier on  my truck. It was dark and I was feeling inside of the hole that the hitch pin goes into for alignment and I said “It needs to go in about an 1/8 of an inch.”

I then took a trip to the E.R.

The Doctor, hours later, did some basic surgery on it, cut it back some and sewed it up. When he was done, he told me to soak it daily in Betadine solution for 5 minutes and have the stitches removed in 10 days.

It wasn’t ready at the ten day mark and I waited another week or so before I took it to a doctor. Even though I expressed concern about the condition of it, he said it was fine. He told me to continue soaking it in Betadine daily until it was fully healed.

Please read the below:

“We all know we are not supposed to use a product like betadine on a wound because it is cytotoxic. It is damaging to tissues,”  Infection control today

“Providone-iodine (Betadine) did not effectively promote good wound healing; in fact, most studies showed either impaired wound healing, reduced wound strength, or infection.” Journal of vascular nursing

And there are many more. I learned this on Monday, 1 month and 2 days in.

I had already done some research on non healing wounds and 5 days previous had started TENS treatment on it, which is almost miraculous according to research.

Unless you are soaking it in Betadine.

Assholes… Incompetent fools.

I might shoot your asses…..If I had a trigger finger.

Hand surgeon tomorrow at 1:00 P.M.

It makes me feel so hopeful…..
